HAPPY FRIDAY. RIDE YOUR BIKE THIS WEEKEND
Around this time in 1978, Saturday night fever had begun a 24 week run in the #1 slot.
Such a powerful movie that it inspired a bike race. In name only, clearly.
Is it shallow of us that, when we hear the song “If I Can’t Have You” we think of this bike?
Have a great weekend, all. I’m gonna put on…my my my my boogie shoes…and boogie with you.

Vintage black and white photogrpahy of 2 one-legged cyclists Herb & Joe via Shorpy

These pictures are from January 29, 1921 in Washington, D.C. “Herbert Bell and Joe Garso.” were two one-legged cyclists and jump ropers who were most likely war vets (hence the missing legs) and took their love for cycling to a new height in the 1920’s.
